Changing rooms 1 & 2 are being reshaped into Men’s and Women’s 1st XV Changing Rooms with volunteer painting squads in next week getting them ready for use on training nights in the next week or so. Changing room 3 will follow shortly afterwards.

However, getting hot water into those changing rooms is proving harder. Scottish Gas Networks need to close the road to increase our gas supply which will take several weeks to arrange and complete at their end. This could make it a tough season for the women with no games played at Union Park until the split and similarly for the men for the first half of the season.

This is not what we wanted or planned for, but we have to keep pressing on accepting the impacts with patience and compromise to get the upgraded clubhouse we need to grow.

At the end of September, the steel will start to go up for our first floor extension, new kit storage area, match officials changing rooms and fourth changing room. These are still due to be finished by the end of November.

Rod Strachan continues to put in an incredible shift on behalf of the club to manage our contractors whilst Stevie Wright tries to gather and count the beans to make sure we can pay for it all. Despite all the great fundraising, money remains tight with many decisions having to be made by the team on a weekly basis to keep within our budget.

We ask you continue to support the teams through this challenging period and they can hopefully have a strong second half once Union Park becomes home again.
